Joining the lab - Ph.D. position available for Fall 2024
A position is available for Ph.D. candidates interested in transcriptional control and immune evasion in trypanosomes, the parasite that causes Sleeping sickness in Africa. The candidate will study how the expression of trypanosomes' immune evasion genes is controlled during antigenic variation, focusing on genome compartments. The project includes genome 3D organization (Pore-C/Hi-C), generation of mutant cell lines, DNA/RNA sequencing, protein interaction analysis (mass spectrometry), and single-cell sequencing to unravel the role of nuclear compartments on the expression of genes essential for pathogen evasion of host antibody responses.
If you are interested in joining the lab, please send an e-mail with a copy of your CV. You should also apply to the graduate program from the Institute of Parasitology, McGill University. Funding is available.
